10% home insurance discount for IPSE members

The Association of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed (IPSE) has announced that its members will be able to get a reduction on their home insurance cover as part of a new partnership. The deal, with specialist insurer Hiscox, will see IPSE members get ten per cent off Hiscox’s tailored, unlimited cover home insurance.

The deal will also enable IPSE’s self-employed members to gain cover for their second homes, listed properties, home renovations and home extensions, with projects up to £75,000 covered as standard.

The new partnership is said to reflect the heightened importance of the houses and possessions of the UK’s self-employed workforce, with a significant number of freelancers now largely or exclusively working from home in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Commenting on the deal, IPSE CEO Derek Cribb said: “We’re thrilled to announce today’s new partnership with Hiscox. With a significant number of contractors working from home, it is clear that any damage to their house, as well as their possessions, can have huge consequences on their financial well-being. Today’s deal, therefore, provides thousands of freelancers with the confidence that their home, the things that they love, and their business are protected.”

Cheralyn Perry, Hiscox’s Head of APC Distribution, added: “As self-starters, leaders and entrepreneurs, IPSE members want to spend less time worrying about home insurance and more time focusing on their businesses. Our comprehensive home insurance gives the freedom to do just that, and we’re pleased to offer IPSE members a discounted rate. With our unique expertise in providing specialist cover to high net-worth individuals, members can rest easy knowing that their home and possessions are in safe hands.”
